Two-day Seminar

In 2004, following the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, there was an effort to bring representatives of the West to Ukraine to share their approaches to the world of work, and innovation in general. Within that context, I was asked to create a two-day seminar, incorporating Western ideas and approaches to the topic of interpersonal leadership skills in the workplace. I presented this seminar with my good friend and colleague, Larry Butler, who has served as the senior HR official in numerous companies and industries.

In preparation for this type of presentation, my book People Skills for Project Managers, was translated into Russian.

Working Effectively with the Angry, Critical Client

Project work involves intense interactions with a a variety of stakeholders who often need to be conceptualized as "clients" due to the project manager not having direct, operational control of all aspects. This presentation described a number of types of anger seen by stakeholders in a project milieu, as well as tangible people skills that project managers can use to address anger while working towards common goals.
